Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tomás Castro kicked off to start the match. Carlos Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Paleao fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! Américo Machado walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Paleao's Diogo Abrantes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Paleao from getting a goal against them. Vítor Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Abrantes having to interfere. Raul Queirós's late challenge caught a Paleao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raul Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Paleao booed when Aroes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th play minute Vítor Magalhães came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Diogo Abrantes. 1-1. Olívio Torres took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexandre Melo. Alexandre Melo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Adolfo Caires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olívio Torres in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Melo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomás Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Abrantes having to interfere. Alexandre Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Torres in the 40th minute of play. If Olívio Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Aroes's Raul Queirós in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paleao's goalie prevented a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Adolfo Caires made the kick off in the second half. Olívio Torres in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alexandre Melo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tomás Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Diogo Abrantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Magalhães in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Paleao's goalkeeper Diogo Abrantes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alexandre Melo made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Olívio Torres sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Aroes's Emanuel Pacheco got a free kick in the 69th minute. Vítor Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Vítor Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diogo Abrantes. Paleao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vítor Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The supporters of Paleao booed when Aroes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Óscar Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diogo Abrantes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Óscar Oliveira went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Tomás Castro struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Diogo Abrantes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aroes. In the 90th minute Adolfo Caires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Aroes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paleao had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
