The audience thought a goal was coming when Válbson Paiva got free with Afonso Brás in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the match, ELIAS FC's goalkeeper Afonso Brás had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amauri Breckenfeld. 31 minutes into the match, Válbson Paiva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Afonso Brás, 3-0. With a little luck, ELIAS FC's Afonso Brás got control of the ball when Amauri Breckenfeld tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Joel Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Serroa's Eusébio Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Marques in the 43rd minute of play. Eusébio Abreu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adelino Marques went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Pinheiro to make the kick off. The supporters of ELIAS FC booed when SC Serroa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 60 minutes into the game, Amauri Breckenfeld cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Afonso Brás was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
