Miguel Sá was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gaspar Candal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. S.L.BENFICA's José Balsemão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Cabral in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, S.L.BENFICA's Eusébio Resende got a free kick in the 10th minute. Miguel Viveiros came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Miguel Sá could save by the left post. José Balsemão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Eusébio Resende hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Palmiro Bandeira kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. If Miguel Viveiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Penhascoso FC's goalkeeper Miguel Sá, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th minute of the match Rui Dias sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Balsemão skillfully saved the ball. José Balsemão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Cabral's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Miguel Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Candal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaspar Candal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Miguel Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Viveiros in the 52nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Viveiros in the 54th minute of play forced Penhascoso FC's goalkeeper Miguel Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. S.L.BENFICA's José Balsemão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Cabral in the 84th minute of play. André Soares in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of José Balsemão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. José Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eusébio Resende kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. José Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Balsemão having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Penhascoso FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for S.L.BENFICA.
