The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Carmona during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to SC BRAGA getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. André Carmona hit a great ball. Almagre FC's Américo Candeias got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Mário Valido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gualter Marinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Américo Candeias in the 10th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Almagre FC's Américo Candeias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gualter Marinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gualter Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Valido, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, SC BRAGA's goal looked a bit too open when Valério Durães came free, but Gualter Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mário Valido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Gualter Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Almagre FC's Diamantino Domingos got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Renato Mourão came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the SC BRAGA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renato Mourão couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Durães in the 33rd minute of play forced SC BRAGA's goalkeeper Gualter Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC BRAGA's Gualter Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Valido in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mário Valido in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gualter Marinho saved SC BRAGA from getting behind. In the 45th minute, Américo Candeias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gualter Marinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

Américo Candeias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Mário Valido came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Almagre FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário Valido couldn't finish the play. Mário Valido did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Gualter Marinho 57 minutes into the match. Américo Candeias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gualter Marinho having to make a save. If Mário Valido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Almagre FC's Mário Valido ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gualter Marinho. Gualter Marinho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Valido in the 75th minute of play forced SC BRAGA's goalkeeper Gualter Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Mário Valido managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almagre FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Valido was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualter Marinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Américo Candeias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Gualter Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Mário Valido got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, SC BRAGA's goal looked a bit too open when Valério Durães came free, but Gualter Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC BRAGA's goalkeeper Gualter Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Américo Candeias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Américo Candeiass short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Gualter Marinho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Almagre FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
