If Joel Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 7th minute, Joel Brás got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that João Gomes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Telinhos was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Samuel Telinhos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Brás, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Nuno Delgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but André Correia made a huge save. Samuel Telinhos came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Fragoas's Joel Brás. But to his dismay, Joel Brás quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. SC Avanca's Samuel Telinhos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Gomes in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Ademar Correia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of André Correia, passed just outside the right post. After having played for 46 minutes, João Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fragoas's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Gomes made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Fragoas's Alberto Vieira got a free kick in the 59th minute. SC Avanca's Nuno Delgado got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Samuel Telinhos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 70 minutes, Tobias Cavaco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Avanca and the Fragoas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuel Telinhos acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 71st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Marco Veiga. Fragoas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nuno Delgado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Despite being the better team, Fragoas failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
