The crowd rose to their feet as Contim's Inácio Mesquita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Simão Faria. That made the score 0-1 after 68 minutes of play. SC Brasileira's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Inácio Mesquita 72 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. In the 75th minute David Moutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Paulo Dantas came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the SC Brasileira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Dantas couldn't finish the play.
