Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Manuel Salgueiro made the kick off which started today's match. Júlio Castanheira kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Breda's Emílio Lessa shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 6th minute of play. The shot was stopped by João Mourão but with some difficulty. If Manuel Salgueiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gregório Roriz in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Benevides prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfredo Benevides stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Salgueiro's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Gregório Roriz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Alfredo Benevides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Benevides came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Têlo da Maia's Gregório Roriz. But to his dismay, Gregório Roriz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. João Mourão was a little too slow when Germano Varanda got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 1-1. After 35 minutes of play, Têlo da Maia's Manuel Salgueiro made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Benevides was left in no man's land by his defense there! Têlo da Maia's João Mourão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Têlo da Maia from getting a goal against them. After having played for 40 minutes, Germano Varanda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Breda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Germano Varanda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Mourão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Germano Varanda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gregório Roriz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Têlo da Maia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Germano Varanda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Salgueiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gregório Roriz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Benevides having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hermes Godinho during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Breda fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Breda's Germano Varanda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Germano Varanda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Mourão having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Salgueiro in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Benevides saved Breda from getting behind. The supporters of Têlo da Maia booed when Breda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Manuel Salgueiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Têlo da Maia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Salgueiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Têlo da Maia's João Mourão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil Ferro in the 74th minute of play. After 75 minutes of play, Breda's Gil Ferro made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Mourão was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gil Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gregório Roriz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredo Benevides having to make a save. If Gregório Roriz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Breda's goalkeeper Alfredo Benevides had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gregório Roriz. With his leg Alfredo Benevides managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Têlo da Maia's Gregório Roriz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Têlo da Maia's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Breda had won, even though Têlo da Maia had held more of the ball.
