The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusébio Ribeiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Lourenço Delgado when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 15 minutes, Eusébio Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Azeiteiros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Ribeiro in the 26th minute of play forced Gozendinho FC's goalkeeper Lourenço Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gozendinho FC's zone, Vasco Amaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lourenço Delgado came out of the goal and Vasco Amaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Azeiteiros FC's Joel Veiga got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Gabriel Amaro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for António Pinho. Azeiteiros FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Jacinto Campos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of António Pinho. Azeiteiros FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacinto Campos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After having played for 46 minutes, Jacinto Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gozendinho FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Campos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute Jacinto Campos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacinto Campos was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Joel Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eusébio Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 61 minutes into the game, Vasco Amaro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lourenço Delgado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Eusébio Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. After 74 played minutes Gozendinho FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Castro. Azeiteiros FC's Joel Veiga couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 75th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gozendinho FC. Eusébio Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jacinto Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Azeiteiros FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Ricardo Moura hit a great ball. Azeiteiros FC's António Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Azeiteiros FC from getting a goal against them. Gil Henriques struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. António Pinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gozendinho FC. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
