Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Reginaldo Noronha started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Plácido Vargas in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Valente prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Júlio Borges scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amílcar Cesário, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Júlio Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílcar Cesário having to interfere. In the 16thth minute of the game Joaquim Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Furnas FC's Amílcar Cesário was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reginaldo Noronha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Valente having to interfere. Plácido Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, Plácido Vargas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Valente. SC Cuxerre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Plácido Vargas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Furnas FC's Amílcar Cesário played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Fontes in the 39th minute of play. David Valente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reginaldo Noronha in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Furnas FC's goalkeeper Amílcar Cesário, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the game, Joaquim Castanheira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Furnas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Cuxerre the free kick. A collision led to Furnas FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Joaquim Castanheira hit a great ball. If Júlio Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim Neves to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Furnas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Camacho to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Furnas FC defense, Joaquim Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amílcar Cesário. The Furnas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amílcar Cesário should have stopped the shot. In the 57th minute, Jorge Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reginaldo Noronha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. David Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Borges received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Júlio Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquim Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amílcar Cesário read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. The supporters of SC Cuxerre booed when Furnas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Homero Lousada didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Júlio Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Cuxerre's Joaquim Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Júlio Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cuxerre's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílcar Cesário breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Cuxerre were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Furnas FC for a fine match.
