When Rui Luz fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Brandim's protests and gave Rui Luz a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Brandim fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Inácio Ferreira, was totally fooled by Oliverpaul 86's Augusto Assis, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 16 minutes into the game, António Neiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oliverpaul 86's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Brandim the free kick. A collision led to Oliverpaul 86 getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. António Neiva hit a great ball. Daniel Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Sousa in the 17th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Augusto Assis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oliverpaul 86's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Brandim the free kick. In the 19th minute, one of Oliverpaul 86:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Oliverpaul 86. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for SC Brandim. Jaime Soares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Daniel Teixeira. 1-1. In the 29th match minute, Oliverpaul 86 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Neiva to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 31 minutes, Rodrigo Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Brandim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Severo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Inácio Ferreira made a huge save. If António Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Cardoso in the 45th minute of the match. Daniel Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gregório Aragão to strike the kick off in the second half. Gregório Aragão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Inácio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rodrigo Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Brandim's Amílcar Amaral pulled a muscle in his back after 57 minutes and couldn't finish the game. During the 57th minute of the match António Neiva completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave António Neiva a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Oliverpaul 86's Emanuel Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, SC Brandim's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Severo came free, but Inácio Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rodrigo Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the SC Brandim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Sousa couldn't finish the play. Augusto Cardoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Teixeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Augusto Cardoso ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the SC Brandim defense, Emanuel Severo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Inácio Ferreira. The SC Brandim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Inácio Ferreira should have stopped the shot. Emanuel Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Ferreira having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Oliverpaul 86's zone, Rodrigo Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Teixeira came out of the goal and Rodrigo Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomás Dias's late challenge caught a Oliverpaul 86's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Dias helped the player get up and apologised. SC Brandim's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
