When Máximo Vasconcelos fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vilarouco's protests and gave Máximo Vasconcelos a yellow card for diving instead. 30 minutes into the game, Cláudio Assunção cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Laércio Taborda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Vilarouco getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Nuno Assis hit a great ball. Alfredo Vaz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 34th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Daniel Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honorato Teles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Almeida. SC Carcua's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cláudio Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Laércio Taborda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Vilarouco players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Carcua were winning 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Almiro Taborda to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Carcua's goalkeeper José Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cláudio Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vilarouco's Almiro Taborda got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Delfim Conde charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delfim Conde the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th minute, Delfim Conde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laércio Taborda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Assunção, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After 66 played minutes SC Carcua got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Vaz. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Carcua eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
