Joel Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimas Benevides in the 16th minute of the match. If Dimas Benevides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Moreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute, Dimas Benevides ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Moreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Dimas Benevides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Moreira having to interfere. In the 68th minute Donato Macieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Francisco Delgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Ruivoz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Delgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Danilo Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Morais in the 76th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Francisco Delgado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 82 minutes, Jairo Antas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Benfica and the SC Ruivoz players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SC Ruivoz getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Carlos Morais hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Benfica fully deserved thier win.
