The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alexandre Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucílio Bento having to interfere. Lucílio Bento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 35 played minutes Palhaca got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Gonçalves. When Alexandre Gonçalves got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Palhaca. Nuno Anjos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucílio Bento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Palmiro Caetano made the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Gonçalves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucílio Bento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Faniqueira's Lucílio Bento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Magalhães in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Palhaca's goal looked a bit too open when Palmiro Caetano came free, but Óscar Assis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Alexandre Gonçalves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Lucílio Bento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lucílio Bento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faniqueira's Lucílio Bento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Magalhães in the 82nd minute of play. Alexandre Gonçalves scored 4-0 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucílio Bento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. José Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Palhaca's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Vilaça came free, but Óscar Assis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute Pedro Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucílio Bento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faniqueira's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Palhaca's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
