The audience was convinced that Eusébio Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diogo Garcia was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Diogo Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The supporters of SC Fundao booed when Renda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Fundao's João Amaro got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xavier Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Amaro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Renda's goal looked a bit too open when João Amaro came free, but Ricardo Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Renda's Ricardo Neto got control of the ball when João Amaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute, João Amaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Neto made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when João Amaro sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of SC Fundao booed when Renda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Renda's Ricardo Neto got control of the ball when João Amaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 93 minutes, Afonso Delgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Renda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Delgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 94 minutes into the game, José Luz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Fundao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Renda the free kick. The supporters of Renda booed when SC Fundao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Renda fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Fundao had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
