The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Valega FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cogula:s goal. In the 86th minute, Emílio Torres made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Quirino. Cogula's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 93rd minute, Mariano Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the match, Eusébio Baptista notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Cogula's Paulo Quirino. Paulo Quirino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Valega FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
