Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Raul Câmara got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Assis in the 5th minute of play forced Mendonca's goalkeeper Sabino Manso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mendonca's zone, José Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabino Manso came out of the goal and José Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Mendonca booed when Maya FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Maya FC's goalkeeper Adolfo Paredes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vicente Mendonça. In the 16th minute, Amável Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Assis in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sabino Manso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Amável Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mendonca's supporters rose to their feet, but Amável Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Paredes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Maya FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Rodrigo Costa hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amável Cardoso got free with Adolfo Paredes in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mendonca's Joaquim Pedroso got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute, Rodrigo Nascimento sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mendonca's Sabino Manso didn't even have to move. Amável Câmara hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When Armindo Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maya FC's protests and gave Armindo Fernandes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Maya FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Armindo Fernandes hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Raul Câmara kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adolfo Paredes. That made the score 1-0 in the 47 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
After 52 played minutes Mendonca got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Pedroso. Adolfo Paredes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amável Cardoso went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mendonca's goalkeeper Sabino Manso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mendonca's Sabino Manso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Mendonca from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Maya FC's zone, Amável Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Paredes came out of the goal and Amável Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 97 minutes into the match, Maya FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Câmara came free, but Adolfo Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mendonca's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
