The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emanuel Gonçalves's late challenge caught a Fc porto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After having played for 13 minutes, Rogério Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc porto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogério Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogério Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Bernardo Faria got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. David Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Fc porto's goalkeeper Cyryl Gotfryd had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Vaz. Cyryl Gotfryd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Queirós in the 27th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Donairia FC got a freekick which was hit by Raul Martins. In the 38th minute, Rogério Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. António Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emílio Barbosa having to interfere. In the 44th minute Raul Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cyryl Gotfryd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raul Martins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Fc porto's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Martins came free, but Cyryl Gotfryd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cyryl Gotfryd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Martins in the 54th minute of play. Donairia FC's Emílio Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Brás in the 79th minute of play. Heitor Brás took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cyryl Gotfryd. Fc porto's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 92 played minutes Donairia FC got a freekick which was hit by David Queirós. Fc porto were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
