The supporters of Freamunde sc booed when SC Casario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Matos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Freamunde sc's Herberto Mourinho tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 7th minute, Fábio Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cândido Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When Ricardo Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Freamunde sc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. Paulo Ponte made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Sérgio Maia sent off a good shot on target. Mário Mota struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Paulo Ponte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Casario. Paulo Ponte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Mota's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Sérgio Maia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Ponte. That made the score 2-0 in the 30 minute of play. Freamunde sc's Paulo Ponte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Freamunde sc from getting a goal against them. Mário Mota might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Ponte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mário Mota ran back to his position shaking his head. Sérgio Maia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Ponte read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, SC Casario's goal looked a bit too open when Teófilo Queiroga came free, but Cândido Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Rodrigues's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cândido Ferreira firmly grabbed it by the left post. SC Casario's Mário Mota got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 96 minutes, Mário Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Casario's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Casario's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
