If António Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling António Monteiro in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Afonso Silva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alípio Sarmento made a kick off. Afonso Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Monteiro in the 61st minute of play. Alípio Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Eusébio Pinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azibo FC. With a little luck, Azibo FC's Afonso Silva got control of the ball when Fernando Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. A long shot from Nuno Faria in the 86th minute of play was well struck, but Afonso Silva made a really good save at the right post.
