After having played for 8 minutes, Rodrigo Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sabugal United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the game, Aparício Estrada cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Hermenegildo Mendes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leandro Delgado during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leandro Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Aparício Estrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 0-2 became the score in the 20th minute when Alípio Sarmento elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Aparício Estrada came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Azibo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aparício Estrada couldn't finish the play. Aparício Estrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermenegildo Mendes having to interfere. If Alípio Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alípio Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Hermenegildo Mendes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azibo FC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alípio Sarmento was the one to do the kick off. Afonso Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Santarém, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Vidigal in the 53rd minute of the match. When Daniel Vidigal came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Sabugal United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Vidigal couldn't finish the play. Alípio Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aparício Estrada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermenegildo Mendes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Aparício Estrada came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hermenegildo Mendes could save by the left post. Rodrigo Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodrigo Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aparício Estrada's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hermenegildo Mendes firmly grabbed it by the left post. During the 78th minute of the match Leandro Delgado completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Leandro Delgado a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Leandro Delgado hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Sabugal United's Rodrigo Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alípio Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Sabugal United's zone, Aparício Estrada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermenegildo Mendes came out of the goal and Aparício Estrada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hermenegildo Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alípio Sarmento in the 94th minute of play. Hermenegildo Mendes made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Aparício Estrada sent off a good shot on target. Azibo FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
