Danilo Lobo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Afonso Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noel Silva's late challenge caught a Azibo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel Silva helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Azibo FC booed when Clube Slim Rooster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonso Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torcato Amaro in the 17th minute of play. Afonso Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torcato Amaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Aparício Estrada left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Azibo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Aparício Estrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aparício Estrada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dimas Palmeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 36th minute, Alípio Sarmento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute Alípio Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dimas Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Torcato Amaro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Afonso Silva came out and tried to block the shot, but Torcato Amaro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Torcato Amaro made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Clube Slim Rooster getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Jerónimo Varanda hit a great ball. When Aparício Estrada came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Azibo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aparício Estrada couldn't finish the play. Aparício Estrada spun around in front of the goal 63 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Clube Slim Rooster's goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Lobo in the 69th minute of play forced Azibo FC's goalkeeper Afonso Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio Guarda kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Aparício Estrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Torcato Amaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonso Silva was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Dimas Palmeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aparício Estrada in the 88th minute. 90 minutes into the game, one of Clube Slim Rooster:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for Azibo FC. Cassiano Palmeira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dimas Palmeira. 1-2. When the match was over Azibo FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Clube Slim Rooster throughout the match.
