Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Catarino Porto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusébio Assunção's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. If Eusébio Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Catarino Porto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pedroso in the 8th minute of play. Catarino Porto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Assunção, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in SC Rio's zone, Jaime Pedroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Catarino Porto came out of the goal and Jaime Pedroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eusébio Assunção fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Catarino Porto having to interfere. Catarino Porto came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Torrego's Eusébio Assunção. But to his dismay, Eusébio Assunção quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Eusébio Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Catarino Porto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lourenço Machado went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 27thth minute of the game Eusébio Assunção who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Rio's Catarino Porto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pedroso in the 30th minute of play forced SC Rio's goalkeeper Catarino Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Catarino Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pedroso in the 33rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the SC Rio defense, Lourenço Machado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Catarino Porto. The SC Rio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Catarino Porto should have stopped the shot. Torrego's Eusébio Assunção got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, SC Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pedroso came free, but Catarino Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eusébio Assunção had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laureano Granja was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Torrego's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Juliano Teles was slow to take the kick. During this time SC Rio's players had a chance to rest. In the 59th minute, Eusébio Assunção fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a rather tough play, SC Rio's Fábio Bettencourt got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 72nd minute Eusébio Assunção shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Catarino Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Torrego's Eusébio Assunção sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Catarino Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eusébio Assunção could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Catarino Porto made a huge save. Jaime Pedroso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Catarino Porto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Eusébio Assunção sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Catarino Porto made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Jaime Pedroso sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute, Jaime Pedroso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaime Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Catarino Porto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Torrego. When the match was over Torrego could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Rio throughout the match.
