Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Domingos Araújo started the match with the kick off. Domingos Araújo's late challenge caught a Covelos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingos Araújo helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 played minutes Freches FC got a freekick which was hit by Domingos Araújo. Mário Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 13 minutes, Lúcio Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Freches FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Faria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heitor Granja kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After 18 played minutes Covelos FC got a freekick which was hit by Heitor Granja. 18 minutes into the match, Freches FC's Paulo Torres broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Domingos Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Belchior Regalado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Domingos Araújo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Freches FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Covelos FC's goalkeeper Belchior Regalado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Belchior Regalado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Araújo in the 30th minute of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Domingos Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Freches FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, Domingos Araújo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Covelos FC's Belchior Regalado didn't even have to move. After a rather tough play, Covelos FC's Artur Bento got a free kick in the 39th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Freches FC's Paulo Torres tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Domingos Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Belchior Regalado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Freches FC booed when Covelos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heitor Granja didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Pestana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Covelos FC's goalkeeper Belchior Regalado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mário Santos. Mário Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belchior Regalado having to interfere. When Januário Magalhães came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Covelos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Januário Magalhães couldn't finish the play. If Mário Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cassiano Noronha during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Covelos FC! The goalkeeper, Belchior Regalado, was totally fooled by Freches FC's Paulo Torres, who 67 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Heitor Granja hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Freches FC's Vasco Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Januário Magalhães in the 84th minute of play. Mário Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mário Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 98 minutes into the match, Covelos FC's goalkeeper Belchior Regalado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mário Santos. When the final whistle sounded Freches FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Covelos FC.
