SC Mirandela's Higino Malheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Cruz in the 5th minute of play. The corner ended in Emanuel Silva almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Mirandela's Higino Malheiro did a great save. If Gaspar Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higino Malheiro having to interfere. In the 16thth minute of the game Gaspar Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Mirandela's Higino Malheiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Higino Malheiro made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Ricardo Matos sent off a good shot on target. Gaspar Cruz charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaspar Cruz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd match minute, Barata FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Cruz to maneuver through the defense. Gaspar Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Higino Malheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. André Machado took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Higino Malheiro. Higino Malheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. André Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With an all-out effort, Barata FC's Higino Malheiro threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gaspar Cruz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. André Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaspar Cruz made a kick off. Ricardo Matos's late challenge caught a SC Mirandela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Matos helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Barata FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ricardo Matos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaspar Cruz in the 54th minute of play forced SC Mirandela's goalkeeper Higino Malheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sálvio Correia hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Gaspar Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Higino Malheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yuri Mourinho's late challenge caught a Barata FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Barata FC's zone, Xavier Jesus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Reis came out of the goal and Xavier Jesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 86 minutes, Paulo Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barata FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Barata FC booed when SC Mirandela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Jesus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Higino Malheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Machado in the 96th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Barata FC had played much better football throughout.
