Emanuel Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Bentes in the 6th minute of the match. Emanuel Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Poças in the 7th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Jorge Bentes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emanuel Neves. S.L.Benfica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Bentes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jorge Bentes scored 0-2 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emanuel Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to S.L.Benfica getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cristiano Resende hit a great ball. S.L.Benfica's Emanuel Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Trindade in the 24th minute of play. David Veríssimo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Emanuel Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Bentes, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 31 minutes of play, SC Trandeiras's Jacob Lucena made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuel Neves was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of SC Trandeiras booed when S.L.Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Negrescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Veríssimo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cristiano Resende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Inácio Soares fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.L.Benfica's protests and gave Inácio Soares a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Trandeiras booed when S.L.Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Bentes, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Jacob Lucena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Neves having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, S.L.Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Poças came free, but Emanuel Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristiano Resende made a kick off. 60 minutes into the match, S.L.Benfica's goalkeeper Emanuel Neves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Poças. S.L.Benfica's Emanuel Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacob Lucena in the 62nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacob Lucena in the 63rd minute of play forced S.L.Benfica's goalkeeper Emanuel Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Bentes, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute, Inácio Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Trandeiras's David Veríssimo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 73rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Emanuel Neves but with some difficulty. In the 78th minute Jorge Bentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was joyful for the audience to see Jaime Poças dribbling past the opponents defense line in the 80th played minute and put the ball into the net. 0-4. After a rather tough play, S.L.Benfica's Viriato Marques got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Cristiano Resende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, SC Trandeiras's Carlos Trindade ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emanuel Neves. Emanuel Neves yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Jaime Poças recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Trandeiras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
