Vítor Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Cabral having to interfere. Aldaír Fragosos short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Carlos Cabral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Vítor Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Carlos Cabral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldaír Fragoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Carlos Cabral made a huge save. In the 26th minute, António Queirós made a precise shot to the right of Vasco Oliveira. Francilheira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Cláudio Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute António Queirós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Carril FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Diamantino Setúbal hit a great ball. Carril FC's Carlos Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Queirós in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vítor Queirós to make the kick off.
