The supporters of Alvarinhos booed when UD Valonguense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Moisés Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Valonguense's supporters rose to their feet, but Moisés Anjos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nuno Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Aprígio Cavaco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 96 minutes of play, Alvarinhos's Nuno Alves made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aprígio Cavaco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alvarinhos were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
