After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Hugo Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Parada 1996's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Máximo Pires breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Reis in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Máximo Pires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiza F.C's zone, David Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Máximo Pires came out of the goal and David Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Alfredo Sousa might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Máximo Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Máximo Pires came out of the goal and Miguel Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ibiza F.C getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Gervásio Freire hit a great ball. In the 70th minute of the match Miguel Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Máximo Pires showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 74 minutes, David Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The FC Parada 1996 manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Ibiza F.C to win.
