Virgílio Paiva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amílcar Amaro. Chorente's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Júlio Coimbra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Júlio Coimbra came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Chorente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Coimbra couldn't finish the play. Inácio Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Bragança having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Padros's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Moreira came free, but Cláudio Bragança reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th match minute, Padros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Vidal to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Chorente's Manuel Macedo tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Emílio Fragoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Amílcar Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute Emílio Fragoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílcar Amaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Padros's Emílio Fragoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílcar Amaro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Chorente's Júlio Coimbra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cláudio Bragança narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Inácio Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Cláudio Bragança tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chorente's zone, Higino Brites stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílcar Amaro came out of the goal and Higino Brites tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Emílio Fragoso made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Emílio Fragoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chorente's Amílcar Amaro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 53rd minute, Joaquim Lisboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Higino Brites sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emílio Fragoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Amílcar Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Chorente getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Eusébio Coimbra hit a great ball. Amílcar Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Higino Brites in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Chorente booed when Padros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvano Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Coimbras short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Cláudio Bragança to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Joaquim Lisboa fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chorente's protests and gave Joaquim Lisboa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Chorente getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Joaquim Lisboa hit a great ball. Cláudio Bragança showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Emílio Fragoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Padros's supporters rose to their feet, but Emílio Fragoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílcar Amaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, Chorente's goal looked a bit too open when José Rego came free, but Amílcar Amaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Bragança made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Júlio Coimbra sent off a good shot on target. If Júlio Coimbra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Catarino Barata during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Chorente booed when Padros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Catarino Barata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Coimbra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Cláudio Bragança made a huge save. After 92 played minutes Chorente got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Moreira. In the 96th minute, Inácio Moreira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Padros were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Chorente for a fine match.
