Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Albertino Teixeira started the match with the kick off. Óscar Esteves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso Faro's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mezio's zone, Afonso Faro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Óscar Esteves came out of the goal and Afonso Faro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Mezio's Jaime Rocha got a free kick in the 10th minute. If Jorge Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raul Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertino Teixeira in the 15th minute of the match. Óscar Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Cabral in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Ribeiro in the 29th minute of play forced U.D.S.Mamede's goalkeeper Raul Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 minutes, Gil Paredes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U.D.S.Mamede and the Mezio players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gil Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the match Filipe Gonçalves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raul Amorim skillfully saved the ball. Mariano Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Esteves having to interfere. Tomás Maia's late challenge caught a Mezio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Maia helped the player get up and apologised. 46 minutes into the match, Manuel Valente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raul Amorim. U.D.S.Mamede's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Valente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afonso Faro made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Teixeira in the 59th minute of play forced U.D.S.Mamede's goalkeeper Raul Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Afonso Faro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U.D.S.Mamede's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mezio the free kick. After a rather tough play, U.D.S.Mamede's Afonso Faro got a free kick in the 67th minute. U.D.S.Mamede's Jaime Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to U.D.S.Mamede getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Tomás Maia hit a great ball. Raul Amorim was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Filipe Gonçalves. The crowd rose to their feet as Albertino Teixeira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Raul Amorim. That made the score 0-3 in the 76 minute of play. Gaspar Coimbra hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. U.D.S.Mamede's Jaime Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gil Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mezio eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
