OS LEOES's Américo Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save OS LEOES from getting a goal against them. Vicente Martins succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 5th playminute. Cândido Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, OS LEOES's Américo Rocha got control of the ball when Vicente Martins tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gemieira FC's Cândido Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vicente Martins scored 3-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Américo Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Quintino Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Ferreira having to interfere. Vicente Martins struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Américo Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gemieira FC. Marco Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudemiro Ribas, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gemieira FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hildeberto Rego was slow to take the kick. During this time OS LEOES's players had a chance to rest. OS LEOES's Hildeberto Rego was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Ferreira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 34 played minutes OS LEOES got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Luz. With a little luck, OS LEOES's Américo Rocha got control of the ball when Rui Ferreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gemieira FC's Marco Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudemiro Ribas in the 39th minute of play. Rui Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo Rocha having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Ferreira made a kick off. In the 51st minute Ian Dalkvist suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Durval Baldaia fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored OS LEOES's protests and gave Durval Baldaia a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Gemieira FC booed when OS LEOES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durval Baldaia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Vicente Martins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gemieira FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Américo Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Ferreira in the 61st minute of play. Marco Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Mesquita in the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th match minute, Gemieira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Maia to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Rui Ferreira sped through OS LEOES's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Américo Rocha. In the 75th minute of the match Rui Gueifão shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Américo Rocha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marco Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudemiro Ribas in the 78th minute of play. In the 81st minute Vicente Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Américo Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Vicente Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cândido Gaspar might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Américo Rocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cândido Gaspar ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of OS LEOES booed when Gemieira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Henriques didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudemiro Ribas in the 91st minute of play forced Gemieira FC's goalkeeper Marco Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Américo Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. If Vicente Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
