With a little luck, SC Passagem's António Guarda got control of the ball when Severino Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Vigário showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Brás in the 10th minute of the match. Pedro Vigário didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Artur Brás went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Vasco Pinto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Catarino Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Vigário was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Pedro Vigário showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Brás in the 30th minute of the match. SC Passagem's Catarino Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliseu Quental was the one to do the kick off. Catarino Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Pedro Vigário tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, SC Passagem's Pedro Vigário threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Artur Brás, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 55th minute of the match, Catarino Oliveira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedro Vigário was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guilherme Damásio during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sporting CP's Guilherme Damásio got a free kick in the 68th minute. Sporting CP's Pedro Vigário proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting CP from getting a goal against them. In the 75th minute Artur Brás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Vigário saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting CP's Pedro Vigário played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Brás in the 78th minute of play. Sporting CP's Severino Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Severino Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of António Guarda. SC Passagem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 96th minute Eliseu Quental shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Guarda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Passagem players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sporting CP.
