Catarino Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Zambujal having to interfere. After 33 played minutes FC Vilarinho got a freekick which was hit by Silvano Bento. The audience was convinced that Artur Brás's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ademar Zambujal was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in SC Passagem's zone, Alcino Sardinha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Guarda came out of the goal and Alcino Sardinha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Manuel Vilarinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alcino Sardinha in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Guarda saved SC Passagem from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Catarino Oliveira in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ademar Zambujal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Artur Brás to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artur Brás in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ademar Zambujal saved FC Vilarinho from getting behind. Catarino Oliveiras short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Ademar Zambujal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. SC Passagem's Artur Brás got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 83rd match minute, FC Vilarinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Machado to maneuver through the defense. FC Vilarinho's Ademar Zambujal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Brás in the 85th minute of play. Silvano Bento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, SC Passagem's Bruno Freitas got a free kick in the 93rd minute. António Guarda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Vilarinho in the 96th minute of the match.
