SC Braganca's Maurício Trindade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save SC Braganca from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Lourenço Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rochel's supporters rose to their feet, but Lourenço Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurício Trindade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tiago Neto fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Braganca's protests and gave Tiago Neto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Braganca getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Tiago Neto hit a great ball. Cristiano Maia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Maurício Trindade. SC Braganca's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tiago Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Braganca's zone, João Pedroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurício Trindade came out of the goal and João Pedroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Rochel booed when SC Braganca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Manso didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Pedroso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurício Trindade having to interfere. Manuel Magalhães charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Magalhães the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manuel Magalhães kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Sálvio Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Vasco Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sálvio Saraiva scored 1-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vasco Macedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Carvalho during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. SC Braganca's Maurício Trindade proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save SC Braganca from getting a goal against them. In the 48th minute Tiago Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rui Dias to make the kick off. The supporters of SC Braganca booed when Rochel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurício Trindade came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Rochel's Lourenço Queirós. But to his dismay, Lourenço Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of SC Braganca booed when Rochel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sálvio Saraiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Manuel Magalhães was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 71 minutes had been played. The supporters of SC Braganca booed when Rochel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th match minute, SC Braganca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafim Abrantes to maneuver through the defense. Rui Dias showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Lourenço Queirós struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Maurício Trindade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rochel. Rochel's João Pedroso got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 93 played minutes Rochel got a freekick which was hit by Lourenço Queirós. SC Braganca's Honorato Camacho couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Rochel. Vasco Macedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sálvio Saraiva in the 96th minute. Rochel were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC Braganca to leave the ground with a draw.
