Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Rorigo FC's Eusébio Dantas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 11 minutes, Henrique Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting CP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Rorigo FC's zone, Paulinho Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rui Araújo came out of the goal and Paulinho Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Azevedo in the 17th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomás Viegas during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rorigo FC booed when Sporting CP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Viegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viriato Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Tomás Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Rui Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basílio Nascimento during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Rorigo FC's Basílio Nascimento got a free kick in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrique Azevedo in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rui Araújo saved Rorigo FC from getting behind. In the 37th match minute, Rorigo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basílio Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the game, Henrique Azevedo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rui Araújo. Henrique Azevedo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 42nd minute, Henrique Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Henrique Azevedo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Rorigo FC's zone, Paulinho Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rui Araújo came out of the goal and Paulinho Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alfredo Assunção charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Assunção the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rorigo FC's Alfredo Assunção got a free kick in the 48th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

André Sá hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Rorigo FC's Fernando Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Rorigo FC's Alfredo Assunção dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 63rdth minute of the game Henrique Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rorigo FC's Rui Araújo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomás Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Araújo having to interfere. André Cabral hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Sporting CP's Viriato Viegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Dantas in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, Sporting CP's Viriato Viegas got control of the ball when Alfredo Assunção tried to sneak it across the goal line. When André Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Sporting CP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Cabral couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sporting CP getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Paulinho Silveira hit a great ball. If Henrique Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alfredo Assunção got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Sporting CP booed when Rorigo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Assunção didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrique Azevedo in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rui Araújo saved Rorigo FC from getting behind. Sporting CP made a substitution. José Garcia replaced André Cabral. Humberto Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Sporting CP were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
