In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rumeleira FC's goalkeeper Paulo Damásio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Damásio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Viana in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of Pomarelhos booed when Rumeleira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílcar Quadros didn't get a good kick on the ball. If André Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 21 played minutes, Pomarelhos's Manuel Torres shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo Damásio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pomarelhos reached it. Telmo Seixas hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Vasco Amaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Paulo Damásio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nuno Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Nuno Viana made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Damásio. Rumeleira FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rumeleira FC's Paulo Damásio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Teixeira in the 44th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, André Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pomarelhos's supporters rose to their feet, but André Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Damásio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Bacelar was the one to do the kick off. Diamantino Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Bacelar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute André Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Damásio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Damásio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Teixeira's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. If André Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Teixeira in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo Damásio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ricardo Nunes hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. When Joaquim Bacelar came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Rumeleira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Bacelar couldn't finish the play. Nuno Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Paulo Damásio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, André Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pomarelhos's supporters rose to their feet, but André Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Damásio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Teixeira in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Damásio saved Rumeleira FC from getting behind. A collision led to Rumeleira FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Saúl Barroso hit a great ball. After 77 played minutes André Teixeira rounded Rumeleira FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. Nuno Viana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Damásio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Nuno Vianas short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Paulo Damásio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nuno Viana scored 0-3 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Damásio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pomarelhos's Diamantino Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Bacelar in the 96th minute of play. The Rumeleira FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pomarelhos were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
