Hugo Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Borges having to interfere. Hugo Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Borges having to make a save. After 36 played minutes Atabueira got a freekick which was hit by Albertino Leite. Pedro Borges showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Armando Lisboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atabueira's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Lisboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Inácio Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 46 played minutes Cavaleiro got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Figueiredo. Abel Amaral acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 48th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cláudio Coelho. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jorge Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Atabueira's Pedro Borges got control of the ball when Hugo Silva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Armando Lisboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Cavaleiro's Lúcio Guerreiro tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Inácio Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Amaral having to interfere. Xavier Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xavier Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th minute, Alberto Aleixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Borges having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Lúcio Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atabueira's Pedro Borges proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Atabueira from getting a goal against them. Carlos Ramos's late challenge caught a Cavaleiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. Hugo Silva struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Pedro Borges didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavaleiro. Pedro Borges was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jorge Amaral showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 93 minute of play. Cavaleiro's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
