The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nicolau Rebelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Leal in the 18th minute of play. Nuno Rebocho kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Nicolau Rebelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Vicente Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nicolau Rebelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Maia in the 33rd minute of play forced Sancheira's goalkeeper Nicolau Rebelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Mateus Eiró had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Américo Ribeiro hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Paulo Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Eiró in the 38th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Paulo Monteiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Leal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lucílio lago struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Paulo Monteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sancheira. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 54th minute, but Nicolau Rebelo got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Sancheira hanging dry this time. After 55 minutes of play, Touguinha's Vicente Maia made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicolau Rebelo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nicolau Rebelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Leal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolau Rebelo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vicente Maia went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 65th match minute, Sancheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Prates to maneuver through the defense. If Miguel Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Touguinha's Paulo Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucílio lago in the 72nd minute of play. In the 77th minute Miguel Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolau Rebelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucílio lago scored 1-3 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Monteiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 88 minutes into the match, Sancheira's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Leal came free, but Nicolau Rebelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
