The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dércio Falcão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Rocha in the 4th minute of play. Alexandre Branco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Vilalobos in the 6th minute. The supporters of Avo FC booed when SC Maceirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zarco Bettencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Catarino Lopes hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Angelo Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. If Miguel Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duarte Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Luís Vilalobos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Maceirinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Vilalobos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duarte Dantas in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dércio Falcão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Duarte Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dércio Falcão having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Duarte Dantas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Avo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dércio Falcão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duarte Dantas's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, SC Maceirinha's David Mascarenhas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandre Branco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Avo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Vilalobos came free, but Alexandre Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Delfim Teixeira got free with Dércio Falcão in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Dantas in the 73rd minute of play forced SC Maceirinha's goalkeeper Dércio Falcão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dércio Falcão was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Duarte Dantas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 80 minute of play. In the 85th minute David Mascarenhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 90 played minutes, SC Maceirinha's Hermes Sardinha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alexandre Branco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Maceirinha reached it. Miguel Rocha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 95thth minute, Dércio Falcão skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Avo FC played a much better game than SC Maceirinha and deserved their victory. The SC Maceirinha players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
