Avelino Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Rogério Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Rafael Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Benevides having to interfere. When Rafael Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Gavieira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Pinho couldn't finish the play. Ass. Desp. Sampedrense's Francisco Benevides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Simões in the 44th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

55 minutes into the match, Ass. Desp. Sampedrense's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Simões came free, but Francisco Benevides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ass. Desp. Sampedrense's Valter Braga got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute of the match Ass. Desp. Sampedrense got a corner. Gavieira FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ricardo Gama ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Valter Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 69 minutes, Ricardo Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gavieira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ass. Desp. Sampedrense's Francisco Benevides proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Ass. Desp. Sampedrense from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ricardo Simões sped through Ass. Desp. Sampedrense's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Francisco Benevides. Vicente Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. If Ricardo Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Lopes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valter Braga went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Ass. Desp. Sampedrense getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Avelino Andrade hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Avelino Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
