The audience was convinced that Adélio Espinosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim Seabra was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Gondufe FC's Joaquim Seabra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adélio Espinosa in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alcides Machado in the 22nd minute of play forced Gondufe FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Seabra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alcides Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Moniz having to interfere. Gondufe FC's Joaquim Seabra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alcides Machado in the 32nd minute of play. Alcides Machado scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquim Seabra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alcides Machado in the 40th minute of play forced Gondufe FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Seabra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Manuel Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gondufe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alcides Machado to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Sporting's Rui Taveira made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquim Seabra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rui Taveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Seabra having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo Espinosa in the 58th minute of play forced Gondufe FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Seabra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adélio Espinosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Joaquim Seabra made a huge save. In the 61st minute Alcides Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Seabra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Sporting's Adélio Espinosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joaquim Seabra. Joaquim Seabra yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alcides Machado in the 66th minute of play forced Gondufe FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Seabra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Espinosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Joaquim Seabra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo Espinosa in the 69th minute of play forced Gondufe FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Seabra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gondufe FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 72nd minute, when Alcides Machado scored to the left of an out of position Joaquim Seabra, making the score, 0-4. Adélio Espinosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Joaquim Seabra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reinaldo Espinosa struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Joaquim Seabra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting. Ronaldo Macena took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquim Seabra. Joaquim Seabra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. 82 minutes into the game, Sporting's Alcides Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquim Seabra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. In the 85th minute, Adélio Espinosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sporting's Alcides Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Gondufe FC's zone, Alcides Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Seabra came out of the goal and Alcides Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Sporting could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gondufe FC throughout the match.
