Pedro Borba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Sesimbra having to interfere. Ricardo Taveira's late challenge caught a Curia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Taveira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 14th match minute, Bestida FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Taveira to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Curia's zone, Lúcio Camargo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Baptista came out of the goal and Lúcio Camargo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Borba let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 25th minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. Honorato Sesimbra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Borba in the 30th minute. Honorato Sesimbra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Cunha in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Gustavo Leiria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lúcio Camargo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Viriato Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Honorato Sesimbra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viriato Cunha struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Honorato Sesimbra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curia. The supporters of Curia booed when Bestida FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Patrício didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 69 minutes, Xavier Machado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curia and the Bestida FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Curia getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Xavier Machado hit a great ball. Bestida FC's Honorato Sesimbra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Cunha in the 71st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Cunha in the 74th minute of play forced Bestida FC's goalkeeper Honorato Sesimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bestida FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
