The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Saúl Caldeira charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Saúl Caldeira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 2nd minute, one of SC Cortikona:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Cortikona. In the 6th minute, Cristóvão Carreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Pedro Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albérico Torres in the 14th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Cortikona's zone, Joaquim Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Telinhos came out of the goal and Joaquim Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Telinhos having to interfere. A collision led to Deocriste FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Rogério Gaspar hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the match, SC Cortikona's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Reis came free, but António Telinhos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Domingues's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute, António Telinhos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. SC Cortikona's Cristóvão Carreira got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albérico Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. António Telinhos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, SC Cortikona's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Reis came free, but António Telinhos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Francisco Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Francisco Domingues blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without António Telinhos having to make a save. With a little luck, Deocriste FC's Pedro Azevedo got control of the ball when Osvaldo Andrade tried to sneak it across the goal line. SC Cortikona were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Deocriste FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Amável Severiano took the corner. After a rather tough play, Deocriste FC's Rogério Gaspar got a free kick in the 84th minute. Joaquim Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute.
