Bruno Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Pinhal in the 44th minute of play. Claudemiro Pinho was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alexandre Maia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 45 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. When the match had been going on for 57 minutes, Agriboa's Santiago Fernandes got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bruno Domingues. SC Ardaos's Bruno Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save SC Ardaos from getting a goal against them. In the 64th minute, António Rodrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute, Éder Esteves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bruno Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Agriboa's supporters rose to their feet, but Éder Esteves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
