Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Emílio Viegas took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Cepoes's goalkeeper Isidro Ramires, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Virgílio Lessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Virgílio Lessa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Estanque fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 20 minutes, Emílio Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Estanque's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio Viegas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of SC Cepoes booed when SC Estanque was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timóteo Malta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Afonso Menezes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Assunção saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Ramires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Viegas in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Cepoes defense, Emílio Viegas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidro Ramires. The SC Cepoes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidro Ramires should have stopped the shot. Gusmão Horta hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. SC Estanque's Jaime Assunção played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Menezes in the 40th minute of play. Emílio Viegas might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidro Ramires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emílio Viegas ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso Menezes to make the kick off. Cassiano Vital's late challenge caught a SC Cepoes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cassiano Vital helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, SC Estanque was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cassiano Vital to maneuver through the defense. Normando Durães hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, SC Cepoes's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Viegas came free, but Isidro Ramires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
