Odeleite's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Odeleite's goalkeeper Paulo Luz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moisés Paredes. Moisés Paredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Luz having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Miranda made a kick off. 66 minutes into the match, Odeleite's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Paredes came free, but Paulo Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th match minute, Odeleite was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Sá to maneuver through the defense. Paulo Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amável Malafaia in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goalkeeper Olívio Roriz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Cardoso. Amável Malafaia struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Paulo Luz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Manchester United had won after a very even match.
