Alcino Meira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Costa in the 9th minute of the match. If Joaquim Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Sá's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alcino Meira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After 17 played minutes SC Valado got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Costa. Rogério Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Germano Vieira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. SC Valado's Manuel Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Vieira in the 53rd minute of play. Catarino Macedo's late challenge caught a SC Rinchoa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The tension between the SC Valado and the SC Rinchoa players grew even worse after the yellow card. 69 minutes into the game, one of SC Valado:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. David Sá blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alcino Meira having to make a save. When Elias Pimentel fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Rinchoa's protests and gave Elias Pimentel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th match minute, SC Rinchoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. David Sá took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alcino Meira. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the SC Valado players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
