Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Freiras's Filipe Paredes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaime Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Quaresma in the 4th minute of play. Valdemar Liberato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. The audience was convinced that José Campos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdemar Liberato was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. SC Freiras's Paulo Oliveira shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 14th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Valdemar Liberato but with some difficulty. After a rather tough play, SC Freiras's Diamantino Costa got a free kick in the 17th minute. Norberto Portela scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jaime Barros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Valdemar Liberato was a little too slow when Filipe Paredes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-1. Sílvio Guerra hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After having played for 38 minutes, José Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Freiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Campos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Quaresma to make the kick off. If António Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, José Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Freiras's supporters rose to their feet, but José Campos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Liberato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 70 minutes into the match, SC Freiras's goal looked a bit too open when António Quaresma came free, but Jaime Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Campos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Valdemar Liberato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, José Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Freiras's supporters rose to their feet, but José Campos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Liberato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers António Quaresma in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaime Barros saved SC Freiras from getting behind. António Quaresma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Barros having to interfere. If Filipe Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferreirinha FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
