After 10 minutes of play, Sport Senhora da Hora's Jesualdo Valadão made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olívio Salgado was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Ricardo Mascarenhas put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nivaldo Valentim. Olívio Salgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horácio Sesimbra went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 32nd minute Horácio Sesimbra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olívio Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nivaldo Valentim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Mascarenhas in the 37th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ricardo Mascarenhas in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nivaldo Valentim saved Sport Senhora da Hora from getting behind. Bento Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olívio Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Alvarenga in the 45th minute of the match. Renato Alvarenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olívio Salgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Mascarenhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olívio Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horácio Sesimbra in the 82nd minute. After 89 minutes, Rodolfo Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sport Senhora da Hora and the AC Viseu players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 89 played minutes Sport Senhora da Hora got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Macedo. After a rather tough play, Sport Senhora da Hora's Renato Alvarenga got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Horácio Sesimbra came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Sport Senhora da Hora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Sesimbra couldn't finish the play. The Sport Senhora da Hora supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sport Senhora da Hora would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
