Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Teófilo Soveral took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Neves during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Catasol FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Neves to maneuver through the defense. After 5 played minutes, Alvarinhos's Jorge Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Américo Vaz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alvarinhos reached it. Augusto Junqueira struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Américo Vaz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alvarinhos. Teófilo Soveral might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Américo Vaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teófilo Soveral ran back to his position shaking his head. Diamantino Fonseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Valério Pinheiro made a huge save. After 15 played minutes Catasol FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Brás. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Augusto Junqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alvarinhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Junqueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Américo Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teófilo Soveral scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Américo Vaz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Alvarinhos getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Hilário Balsemão hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Augusto Junqueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alvarinhos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 31 minutes into the match, Alvarinhos's goalkeeper Valério Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Brás. Diamantino Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Valério Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catasol FC. Augusto Junqueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Américo Vaz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Diamantino Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Pinheiro having to interfere. Eusébio Mendes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valério Pinheiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Eusébio Mendes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 43rd minute. After the first half Alvarinhos were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusébio Mendes was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Teófilo Soveral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Américo Vaz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Américo Vaz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augusto Junqueira in the 60th minute. Augusto Junqueira took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Américo Vaz. Américo Vaz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Diamantino Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Valério Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusébio Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evandro Pinho kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Augusto Junqueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Américo Vaz made a huge save. Alvarinhos's Teófilo Soveral got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Américo Vaz made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Augusto Junqueira sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 85 minutes, Diamantino Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catasol FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diamantino Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valério Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute of the match Rui Gueifão sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valério Pinheiro skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Alvarinhos defense, Eusébio Mendes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valério Pinheiro. The Alvarinhos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valério Pinheiro should have stopped the shot. Valério Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Fonseca in the 95th minute of play. The Alvarinhos players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
